Institute of Animal Biology of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine

Institute of Animal Biology of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine is a leading Ukrainian research institution specializing in livestock science, physiology, biochemistry, genetics, and biotechnology. As the scientific centre for the “Physiology of Animals” research field within the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine, the Institute coordinates and advances research on animal health, nutrition, reproduction, adaptation, and productivity. Its multidisciplinary research focuses on improving livestock production through innovative approaches, including molecular genetics, biotechnology, animal nutrition, disease prevention, and the development of environmentally sustainable solutions. The Institute also contributes to scientific education and the training of future researchers through postgraduate and doctoral programmes.

Role in the project

IAB-NAAS provides access to data from Ukrainian local sheep breeds and contributes to multi-omics analyses, supporting the discovery of genetic and molecular mechanisms of heat stress resilience.
