Croatian Association of Sheep and Goat Breeders is the central breeders’ association dedicated to promoting, improving, and supporting sheep and goat production in Croatia. Founded in 2005, the Association brings together 17 local breeders’ associations and individual members across the country and is responsible for implementing breeding programmes, maintaining studbooks, and managing pedigrees for all registered sheep and goat breeds in Croatia. Through collaboration with research institutions and agricultural organizations, it supports genetic improvement, knowledge exchange, and the development of the livestock sector. The Association also plays an important role in representing breeders’ interests, organizing sector events, and providing information and training opportunities for sheep and goat producers.
Role in the project
OV-KO supports access to Croatian commercial sheep herds and supports implementation of breeding protocols and strategies. Acts as a key end-user partner, ensuring practical relevance and uptake of project outcomes.
