BIOPOLIS is a Centre of Excellence dedicated to advancing research and innovation in environmental biology, ecosystem research, biodiversity, and agro-biodiversity. Built on the upgrade of the CIBIO – Research Centre in Biodiversity and Genetic Resources through collaboration with the University of Montpellier and Porto Business School, BIOPOLIS aims to become an internationally recognized hub for scientific excellence and innovation. The centre focuses on understanding biological processes from genes to ecosystems and translating research outcomes into practical solutions for environmental sustainability, biodiversity conservation, and agriculture. Through international partnerships, stakeholder engagement, and knowledge transfer, BIOPOLIS supports sustainable development and the creation of new research-driven opportunities.
Role in the project
BIOPOLIS works jointly with MED on multi-omics functional integration and biological validation of candidate genes. Contributes to linking genomic signals with physiological and molecular mechanisms of heat stress resilience.
